Product Information

The plight of homeless veterans inspired Troy Tso (Din) to consider the meaning of home. His design's center is a Hogan, a traditional Din structure of wood and earth. The roof's construction - shown from the inside looking up - is surrounded by the four mountains that bound the Navajo Nation: Dib Ntsaa (Hesperus Peak), Sisnaajini (Blanca Peak), Tsoodzil (Mount Taylor), and Dook'o'oosliid (the San Francisco Peaks). 34" x 64". Unnapped; fabric is uncombed for sharper pattern definition. Whipstitch binding . Pure virgin wool/cotton. Fabric woven in our American mills. Dry clean. Made in USA. Created exclusively for the American Indian College Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps fund scholarships for Native American students and tribal colleges. Your purchase of this USA-made blanket helps support their honorable mission. About the artist: Troy Tso is a Din (Navajo) artist raised in the community of Burntcorn Valley, Arizona. His clans are Coyote Pass-Jemez (Mą'íídeeshgíízhíníí), Red Running into Water people (Tanchii'nii), Tangle (Ta'neeszahni), and Mexican (Naakai dine'). Tso is inspired by family and influenced by Din culture. He began drawing at a young age, and has progressed from sketching to graphic art and design with ideas that come from living each day as Din. "Art has the responsibility to heal and inspire."
