Racing is in Stan's DNA, and the Podium SRD is a pure, no-compromise, XC racing wheelset. The "SRD" means "Stan's Racing Development," and we reserve those letters for products built with direct input from our pro riders and their mechanics. The first wheelset to wear the Stan's Racing Development badge, the Podium SRD is the lightest and fastest racing wheelset we've ever made. Built on the legendary racing heritage of our ultralight Race Gold and Valor carbon wheelsets, the Podium SRD earned major wins at the B.C. Bike Race and U.S. Marathon National Championships while still in development. When your singular mission is to win XC races, the Podium SRD is your wheelset. * This wheelset is extremely light. Stan's patented BST rim shape has been taken even further by decreasing sidewall height and updating our carbon layup process to shave even more weight where it matters most. At less than 1300g, the Podium SRD wheelset is made to accelerate fast and absolutely dominate climbs. Though the 300g Podium SRD rim is the lightest carbon rim we've ever made, it's also designed to resist lateral flex for precision handling. Radially, the Podium SRD rim is engineered to deflect up to 10mm to absorb vibrations and impacts. RiACT is Stan's proprietary combination of rim shape and carbon layup that makes this possible. The Podium's radial impact absorbing carbon technology translates into fewer pinch flats, added durability, and less rolling resistance. * Podium SRD wheelsets rely on the low drag, instant engagement, and serious durability of Stan's M-pulse hubs. The key to the M-pulse's friction-free feeling is the magnetic pawls. Traditional pawl springs are at their weakest when fully engaged and add unnecessary friction and resistance when not engaged, but the magnetic pawls of M-pulse hubs are at their strongest when engaged, and offer very little drag when not engaged. They offer even less drag and friction, M-pulse hubs feature preload adjustment, ensuring the bearings are free to spin without the added friction of over-tight axles. Designed and manufactured in Bend, Oregon by Project321, M-pulse freehubs are available with Shimano Micro Spline, HG, or SRAM XDR freehub, and 6-bolt or Centerlock brake style, with options to fit all popular axle configurations. Tubeless ready with rim tape installed.
